The quality
of a new photo is directly related to the size and quality of
the original.
As a general rule, if the photo
to be reproduced looks clear to the naked eye, it will probably
produce a satisfactory copy. If the new copy is to be
the same size or smaller than the original, there will usually be
little or no loss in quality. If the new copy is to be enlarged,
consideration needs to be given to the clearity of the original.
Simply stated, if a photograph is somewhat blurry, it can
be assumed that when enlarged to twice it's size, it will appear
to be twice as blurry.

Older is Better..... It is a
fact, that most old photographs and negatives are much higher quality
that modern ones. They were made at a time when it was not seemed
to be as important to "cut costs", by limiting the quality
to the absolute miminum that the customer would be satisfied with. |
